MYANMAR DISASTER

ENGAGING IN RELIEF EFFORTS

The natural disaster in Myanmar is of an epic scale with 78,000 people confirmed dead, 56,000 listed as missing and 2.4 million people in desperate need of food. In the aftermath of this devastating natural disaster employees have been asking how they can help. Given the precarious situation in Myanmar and the ability for aid and relief to directly reach the region we have been in contact with our community partners to understand how best to advise people wanting to help.

In this early stage of the relief effort the best and most effective way to provide support is via direct donations through our community partners: Mercy Corps, Care International, UNHCR, Global Giving and Youth Noise.

These partners are working with on-the-ground agencies or organizations in Myanmar that currently have the direct ability to assist with immediate relief efforts.

Given that the World Health Organization is already receiving reports of malaria outbreaks and water-borne illnesses from dirty water and poor sanitation some of the most urgent needs are for food, water and temporary housing.

If you would like to donate please click through to our partner’s websites for further information.
